Pimp my Pump: Salvador Dali Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ArizonaSmith: I came to the pump with the new cache, ready to be placed at new place, when I discovered that the city of Zagreb replaced this pump with the brand new green pump. So, this cache has no sense of existence any more, unless the PmP team paints this one again, in which case I will place it again. Thanks to everyone for searching/finding this one!

Geocache Description:

For the story behind Pimp my Pump crew, all references, info, water pumps, and projects check Pimp my Pump: The Headquarters geocache, all the PmP news and a complete list of all pimped pumps will be there, up to date. Also, paint on the pumps, and especially on the floor, unfortunately deteriorates with time, so the pumps can be rather different looking than their pictures in the listing...

EN: This time, PmP team decided to pay homage to Salvador Dalí, a famous Spanish surrealist painter famous for, among other things, his mustache. Eccentric both in his paintings and in real life, he employed extensive symbolism in his work. For example, the melting watches (his frequent subject) suggest Einsten’s theory that time is relative, and not fixed. Eggs (hope and love), elephants, ants (death, decay and immense sexual desire), snails and locusts (waste and fear) are also very common themes in his paintings. There is a very famous photograph of Dalí called “Dalí Atomicus”, made by Philippe Halsman. It explores the idea of suspension, depicting three cats flying, a bucket of thrown water, and Dalí in mid air. It took 28 attempts before a satisfactory result was achieved. Poor cats.

Za priču o Pimp my Pump ekipi, reference, informacije, ofarbane gradske pumpe, i ostale projekte provjerite Pimp my Pump: The Headquarters geocache, sve PmP vijesti te kompletna recentna lista spimpanih pumpi će biti tamo.
