Geocache Description:

A simple event cache and another chance to see the Severn Bore, after the disappointment of the cancelled event cache for the predicted 5* bore on 2 February 2014.

With the caching I've got planned leading up to 2 March, this may also be my 1000th cache.

The Severn Bore is an amazing sight and sound. A wave is created by the tide rushing into the mouth of the river Severn, shaped like a funnel in the Severn Estuary, resulting in a wave flowing upriver which is big enough to surf. This is the second biggest Tidal Bore in the world (the biggest is in China) and an amazing experience.

This simple event cache will take place by the Anchor Inn, Epney, on the east bank of the river. the event is being held n Sunday 2 March, when the bore is predicted to arrive at the posted coordinates at 08:15.

We'll meet at the posted coordinates, or, if that spot is already taken by muggles, at the alternative location, the beer garden of the Anchor Inn. Look out for the 'Cotswold Caching' banner.

Given this is a natural event and can be affected by a number of factors, the bore can arrive anything up to 20 minutes early or late. Therefore, in order to not miss out, and so that you'll have a better chance of parking closer to the event coordinates, you might want to arrive around 07:45.

It'll be a chance to meet and greet caching friends and acquaintances old and new, have a natter, swap and discover trackables, and of course, see the bore itself, which will also allow you log the Severn bore earth cache

For those of you who need a little extra encouragement to attend, Gackt and I will be providing some cake. Feel free to bring anything else you want to share with your fellow cachers. You'll need to bring your flask with choice of hot drink.
