O Templo Kadampa para a Paz Mundial fica situado na Várzea de Sintra, próximo da Serra de Sintra, num lugar tranquilo e de grande beleza natural. Trata-se de um templo budista tradicional mandado construir num terreno de 1,3 hectares pelo mestre de meditação e fundador da Nova Tradição Kadampa (NTK), Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
No altar no interior do Templo poderão ser apreciadas grandes estátuas de Buda Shakyamuni, Tara, Avalokiteshvara, Je Tsongkhapa e filhos, as Cinco Linhagens de Dorje Shugden e a estátua recentemente fundida do venerável Gueshe Kelsang Gyatso. Admirar estas estátuas abençoadas, deixa gravadas na nossa mente poderosas marcas, que no futuro resultarão em paz interior. O Templo estará aberto ao público, seja para visitas individuais ou em grupo.
Segundo Geshe Kelsang, um Templo Kadampa é um local especial, sagrado, onde se podemos receber bênçãos e que ficar com poderosas marcas nas nossas mentes, que resultarão em profunda paz interior no futuro.
Muitos Templos Kadampa estão a ser construídos em todo o mundo como parte do Projeto Internacional de Templos. Alguns baseiam-se num desenho tradicional e outros em desenhos contemporâneos. Os Templos são dedicados inteiramente à paz mundial.
De acordo com a explicação do Venerável Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, um Templo é uma representação de uma Terra Pura, tal como o Paraíso de Tushita, onde Je Tsongkapa Tsongkhapa vive, ou a Terra Pura de Buda Heruka e Vajrayoguini.

At the altar inside the temple large statues of Buddha Shakyamuni , Tara , Avalokiteshvara , Je Tsongkhapa and children, the Five Strains of Dorje Shugden statue and the newly merged Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso can be enjoyed . Many Kadampa Temples are being built across the world as part of International Temples Project . Some are based on a traditional drawing and other contemporary designs . Temples are fully dedicated to world peace .
According to the explanation of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso , a Temple is a representation of a Pure Land , as the Tushita Heaven , where Je Tsongkhapa Tsongkhapa lives , or the Pure Land of Buddha Heruka and Vajrayogini .
