The Church of St Mary and St Andrew, Horsham St Faith.
The church dates back to the 13th century, and over the centuries has undergone many changes. Building work is continuing at the present time and there is currently scaffolding around part of the building, consequently access to the church may at times be difficult. This is a shame, because the rood screen is of considerable interest. It is dated 1528 and adorned with 12 painted panels depicting saints. The church also has an elaborate Jacobean font cover, and a pulpit with painted panels which were recently restored by the V & A Museum.
Much of the building was restored in 1873 with a £1400 donation from the Twinings tea family. Outside, the south porch vaulting has a boss which shows the crucifixion of St Andrew.
Please make sure the container lid is properly closed as the hide location is liable to be wet over the winter months, and replace as found. Thank You.
