Monte Saccarello 2201m,
it ist he highest mountain of Liguria. It also defines the watershed between Valle Argentina, Val Roja and Valle Tanaro. Furthermore it is exactly on the boarder of the three provinzes, Provenza, Piemonte and Liguria as well as on the country boarder of Italy and France. On a side elevation you can find a giant statue of Jesus. In the saddle between the statue and Monte Saccarello you will find a memorial stone of the alpine convention.
This mountain forms a superb excursion and offers splendid views over the sea alps. On clear days one can see, Monviso or even Mt. Blanc.
One can climb this beautiful mountain from Triora, La Brigue, Mendatica or Monesi.
Please do not destroy any nature or stone structure of the fort.
