Kusok historie
Kupele Turcianske Teplice patria k najstarsim na Slovensku a aj v Europe. Prva pisomna zmienka o meste a teplych pramenoch je z roku 1281, ked kral Ladislav IV darovacou zmluvou porucil panstvo a pramene na jeho zapadnej casti grofovi Petrovi.
Od roku 1533 uzemie patrilo mestu Kremnica. Mesto Kremnica spristupnilo pramene vsetkym vrstvam. Podla legendy sa tu liecil aj Kral Zigmund Luxembursky, ktory sa kupaval so zlatou korunou na hlave a prave Turcianskej vode vdacil za vyliecenie lamky a vysoky vek, ktoreho sa dozil.
Skutocny rozmach vsak nastal az v 19. storoci, kedy sa kupele zacali budovat a postupne rozrastat. V roku 1948 sa Kremnica vzdala svojich prav a vznikli Ceskoslovenske statne kupele. V sucastnosti su kupele akciova spolocnost a po dlhsom obdobi stagnacie prezivaju velky rozvoj a rozsirovanie procedur.

Ako vznika termalna mineralna voda ?
Dazdova a povrchova voda sa dostava pod zem puklinami, steka do znacnych hlbok az niekolko kilometrov. Podzemna voda sa pod zemou obohacuje o oxid uhlicity, cim z nej vznika kyselina uhlicita. Takato voda este nie je mineralna, ale vdaka jej kyslosti naleptava okolite horniny, rozpusta ich a obohacuje sa nimi. Privlastok termalna voda ziska, ak je zahrievana geotermalnou energiou. Vo vseobecnosti teplota v zemskej kore stupa s hlbkou. Ak sa podzemna voda dostane do dostatocnej hlbky v zemskej kore, tak sa ohreje od okolitych horucich hornin. Tlak nadlozia, novo prichadzajuca nadzemna voda a znizena hustota vody obohatenej o CO2 vytlaci vodu na povrch puklinami alebo zlomami.

Na Slovensku hovorime o mineralnej vode az vtedy, ked 1 kg vody obsahuje najmenej 1000 mg beznych pevnych latok. Mineralizacia turcianskej mineralnej vody patri k vyssim, v jednom litri sa nachadza az 1524 mg mineralov.
Turcianska termalna mineralna voda prameni s teplotou 38-46 stupnov Celzia, je hypotonicka siranovo-hydrouhlicitanova vapenato-horecnata.

Pramen Kollar
Pitny pramen Kollar sa nachadza na suradniciach geokese v areali kupelov. Bol odvrtany v roku 1959 do hlbky 34 metrov. Neskor v roku 1984 bol o upravene jeho okolie. Vyuziva sa na pitne ucely, teplota vody sa pohybuje od 43 to 45 stupnov Celzia.

Pramen Zivena
Pramen sa nachadza pred vstupom do arealu, pri liecebnom dome Fatra. V prameni je mozne vidiet usadeniny pochadzajuce z termalnej mineralnej vody. Vrt bol navrtany v roku 1965 do hlbky 62 metrov, teplota vody je okolo 40 stupnov celzia. Vyuziva sa na pitne ucely.

Piece of history
Spa Turcianske Teplice belong to oldest in Slovakia and in Europe. The first written mention of the town and the hot spring is from year 1281, when King Ladislav IV commanded by deed of gift the estate and springs in its western part to graf Peter.
Since year 1533 the city territory belonged to city Kremnica. City Kremnica made springs ​​available to all social classes. According to legend, here was also treated King Sigismund of Luxembourg, who was bathing with a golden crown on his head and just to Turciansky springs he owes healing of arthritis and long life he lived.
Real boom, however, occurred in 19th century when the spa were built and gradually expanded. In 1948 Kremnica waive their rights and Czechoslovak Spa Govermnemt Company was established. Currently spa are joint-stock company and after long period of stagnation sap enjoy large development and expansion of procedures.

How does the thermal mineral water originates ?
Rainwater and surface water gets into the ground through cracks, flows into considerable depths up to several kilometers. In underground the water is enriched with carbon dioxide, and becomes the carbonic acid. Such water is still not mineral, but due to its acidity etches nearby rocks, dissolves them and is enriched by them. Possessive thermal water obtains when it is heated with geothermal energy. In general, the temperature of the earth's crust increases with depth. If the underground water comes to a sufficient depth in the earth's crust it is heated by the surrounding hot rocks. Overburden pressure, newcomming ground water and reduced density of water enriched with CO2 forces water to the surface through cracks or faults.

In Slovakia we talk about mineral water only when 1 kg of water contains at least 1000 mg of dissolved solids. Mineralization of thermal mineral water belongs to the higher per liter it contains 1524 mg of minerals.
Turcianska thermal mineral water springs with temperatures 38-46 degrees Celsius, it is hypotonic hydro-sulphate calcium-magnesium.

Spring Kollar
Spring Kollar is located at the coordinates of geocache in the spa. It was drilled in 1959 to a depth of 34 meters. Later in 1984 its surroundings was arranged. It is used for drinking, water temperature ranges from 43 to 45 degrees Celsius.

Spring Zivena
Spring is located in front of the spa entry, near the spa house Fatra. In the spring can be seen deposits from thermal mineral water. The borehole was drilled in 1965 to a depth of 62 meters, the water temperature is around 40 degrees Celsius. It is used for drinking purposes.
