As grandes chuvas do inverno de 2009/2010 fizeram em Messines, uma 'vítima', o túnel que serve de acesso à estação do caminho de ferro. Na verdade, o referido túnel, nunca foi destinado à circulação de pessoas, trata-se de um 'túnel hidráulico', necessário ao escoamento das águas e foi nessa qualidade que foi construído. Mas, ao longo de muitos anos, a população de Messines habituou-se a usá-lo como o caminho mais curto para o acesso à estação e ao cemitério.
No final do ano 2010 houve obras de requalificação deste túnel originando no inicio de 2011 a sua reabertura. Foi colocada uma estrutura metálica e vários barrotes em madeira para suster o velhinho muro.

The heavy rains of the winter of 2009/2010 made in Messines, a 'victim', the tunnel that serves as access to the railway station. Actually, that tunnel was never intended for pedestrian traffic, it is a 'hydraulic tunnel' necessary to the flow of water and it was in that capacity that was built. But over many years, the population of Messines accustomed to use it as the shortest way to access the station and cemetery.
At the end of 2010 there were works of redevelopment of this tunnel originating in early 2011 its reopening. A metal structure and several wooden beams were placed to hold the old wall.
