The walk is pretty much level but the path is narrower and on a slope towards the end.
Remember the weather conditions can suddenly change on Dartmoor but this should easily be done in well under an hour.
There are a number of boundary stones in the area with the marking 'DS' (you never knew that we were royalty did you?). DS stands for the 'Duke of Somerset' and this signifies his bounds and also coincide with the parish boundaries of Ilsington/Manaton, and Ilsington/Bovey Tracey. A nearby three-sided pillar marks the point where the three parishes meet.
At waypoint 1 convert the letter on the stone into a number i.e. A is 1, B is 2 etc. ?? = AB
At waypoint 2 DNPA CD yrs 2001. ??=CD
At waypoint 3 DS EFGH, ???? = EFGH
At waypoint 4 how many letter Es in the two words. ??= I
