In het Oostvaardersveld komen de verschillende landschappen van het Oostvaardersplassengebied bij elkaar. Rietmoeras, waterpartijen, grasvlaktes, ruigte, struweel en bos komen er vlak naast elkaar voor. Deze variatie maakt het gebied niet alleen aantrekkelijk voor talloze planten en dieren, maar ook voor de recreant. Via een net van fiets- wandelpaden en diverse rust- en uitkijkpunten kun je in alle seizoenen en op je eigen manier van het Oostvaardersveld genieten.
Het Oostvaardersplassengebied bestaat uit een kern voor natuur met daaromheen een schil waarin naast natuur ook ruimte is voor recreatie, landschap en cultuur. Het Oostvaardersveld maakt deel uit van deze schil en is, mede dankzij de recente herinrichting, een waardevolle aanvulling op de natuurkern.
Herinrichting
In 2014 heeft Staatsbosbeheer het Oostvaardersveld heringericht. Het doel was om een nieuwe en betere leefomgeving te creëren voor een groot scala aan plant- en diersoorten, een van de opgaven voor de kern van het Oostvaardersplassengebied.
Daarnaast is het Oostvaardersveld toegankelijker gemaakt voor recreanten. Zo zijn wandelroutes aangelegd en picknickbanken, infopanelen en vogelkijkhutten geplaatst, die een betere natuurbeleving mogelijk maken. Verder wordt bekeken hoe de edelherten uit de Oostvaardersplassen gebruik kunnen maken van het Oostvaardersveld. Dit wordt uitgewerkt in het beheerplan voor het gebied, dat momenteel wordt opgesteld.
Publieksopening 6 juni 2015
Op 6 juni 2015 wordt dit gedeelte officieel geopend voor het publiek en zullen er verschillende activiteiten te doen zijn in het nieuw ingerichte gebied, zoals het vinden van deze nieuwe multicache en nog 5 nieuwe traditionals.

In the Oostvaardersveld different landscapes of the Oostvaardersplassen can be discovered. This variation in vegetation is not only interesting for many plants and animals, it also makes the area very interesting for recreational use. With a wide range of bicycle- and walking routes and many viewpoints and resting facilities one can enjoy the area in all seasons.
The whole Oostvaardersplassen consists of a core that focuses on nature preservation where acces is limited, and a surrounding ring where nature, recreation, landscape and culture go together. The Oostvaardersveld is part of this surrounding ring and has recently been redesigned to make it more accessible for recreational use. Also the area has been redesigned to become a more valuable addition to the nature in the Oostvaardersplassen. In the Oostvaardersveld you can see many of the species of the core area of the Oostvaardersplassen.
Integrating nature and recreation
In 2014 the Oostvaardersveld has been remodelled tob ring recreation and the nature of the Oostvaardersplassen closer together, and also create a new and better habitat for many plant- and animals species. For recreational use many new hiking-routes have been added. Also new picknickareas, information panels and birdwatching-places have been added, which make it possible to experience nature from up close. Furthermore research is being done to look for possibilities for the red deer to make use of the new area in the Oostvaardersveld.
Official opening 6th of June 2015
On the 6. June 2015 the Oostvaardersveld will be opened officially for the public. To celebrate many interesting workshops and activities will be organized in the Oostvaardersveld. And also this new multicache and 5 traditionals are being launched on this date.
The hike:
- WP 1: This is the start of the hike. Here you will find a sign with green numbers within circles. make a sideways sum (quersumme in DE) of the number in the middle, this is A.
- WP 2: Hike via N52 26.780, E5 25.840, to N52 26.(3*a)93, E5 25.(10/a)53. Here used to be another sign with a green number, I will give you B for free: 6.
- WP 3: N52 26.8a(b/3), E5 25.(1+a)9b. Look up at the ridge purlin. In the middle you will see a figure as can be seen on the side of a dice. The value of this side is C.
- WP 4: N52 26.(b/2)1a , E5 24.9(b-c)9. You are near a fence. This fence has .. horizontal bars. This is D.
- WP 5: N52 26.b(b-c)d, E5 24.d(b-a)(b-a). At this location you see the bridge. How many standing poles has 1 side? This is E.
- WP 6: N52 26.(c+e)(b/2)(e-a), E5 24.(d+a)(d-c)d. This sign contains a distance in meters. Make a sideways sum (quersumme in DE) with this value, This is F.
- WP 7: N52 27.(f-b)(e+a)(b-c), E5 24.(e+d)f(f-e). How long is the hikingpath on the sign, this is G.
- WP8: N52 27.(g-d)(b-e)a, E5 25.(c-a)a(b-g). Those rules in the Netherlands....but some rule are necessary to keep an area quit and beautiful. Make a sideways sum of the law article (3 digits) which you can find on this sign. This is H.
- STASH: N52 26.(4*h)h(h-a), E5 25.(g+e)(e-h)(b-c). Here you will find the reward! Although we think the hike is the real reward. We hope you have enjoyed this unique nature reserve in our beautiful 'polder'.
LET OP! U gaat door een begrazingsgebied waar wilde dieren lopen. Honden mogen mee maar moeten dus aangelijnd!
