Kätkö ei varsinaisesti esittele mitään tiettyä paikkaa, paremminkin täällä voi huomata sen kuinka maaseutu autioituu.
Kätkö sijaitsee Puolangalla, Väyrylänkylään kuuluvalla Somerella. Tutkimusten mukaan alueelle tulivat ensimmäiset asukkaat 1500-luvun loppupuolella. 1900-luvulla alueella oli useampia kymmeniä asuttuja taloja, ja maitoauto poikkesi monessa niistä. Sittemmin ovat talot autioituneet, tai muuttuneet kesäasunnoiksi. Kuitenkin muutamassa talossa on vielä vakituisia asukkaita, jotka nauttivat luonnon rauhasta.
Kätkölle vauhtia haetaan yhden pisimpään asutun tilan, eli Kuikan tilan lähimaisemista. Pihaan ei tarvitse mennä, mutta jos kätköilijälle iskee väsymys, on siellä tarjolla yösija ja aamiainen. Alkupisteeltä löytyvät koordinaatit loppupurkille. Lunta voi talvella olla paljonkin täällä vaaramaisemissa, mutta kätkö on takuulla talvilöydettävä, toki se purkin äärelle pääseminen voi olla huomattavasti työläämpää. Taskulampusta ei myöskään liene haittaa, se on jopa välttämätön apuväline vuorokauden ajasta riippuen.

The cache doesn’t present a certain place as such, rather here you can discover how the rural areas get depopulated.
The cache is situated in a town called Puolanka, more specifically in Somere, which is a part of Väyrylänkylä. According to research it was first populated at the end of the 16th century. During 19 hundreds there were tens of populated houses where milk was produced and collected from the houses. Since then the houses have been deserted or turned into summer houses. However there are still a couple of houses with permanent residents who enjoy the tranquility of nature.
You begin the search for the cache nearby one of the longest populated estates in the area, estate called Kuikka. To find the cache you don’t have to go all the way to their garden, but if you suddenly feel weary after all the caching you can book B&B from the estate. At the first cache you can find the coordinates to the final cache. During the winter there can be a lot of snow, but it’s still possible to find the cache. Of course getting to the final cache might be a bit more difficult than it is when there isn’t any snow around. A flashlight may come in handy or even a necessity depending on the time of the day you search for the cache.
There is a log book and a pen in the cache. There is also room for travellers.
