The Tillamook County Historical Society was founded in 1984, seeking to bring together persons interested in the history of Tillamook County. Among the numerous function conducted by the Tillamook County Historical Society, is the sponsorship of a genealogy study group, the placement of plaques and other markers to identify important historic sites and places, or in memory of individual citizens who have made important contributions to Tillamook County.
Your quest, via the caches will be to visit and learn about many of the historical markers throughout Tillamook County. Most will be Multi-Caches.

This cache will take you to the Tillamook Naval Air Station, now owned by the Port of Tillamook Bay. Although no historical marker will be found explaining the history of the naval base, this facility has had a far reaching impact on this country since World War ll. Additional information about the naval base can be found over by the blimp hanger.

This is a loop trail, take the right trail that goes by the large Western Hemlock sign. Follow trail for about 0.2 Mile. Cache is approx. 20' off trail. Look for two trees with interconnection root system, start looking.
