Scotland the Quest, a countrywide cache hunt where you have a special cache in each region of Scotland. 27 cachers have come together to place 32 caches around Scotland to create this series. You should also make a note of the N and W numbers written in the logbook if you intend to complete the quest and find the bonus cache. Please remember to bring a pen. Good Luck!
Please note that the cache container itself can be removed if that's easier.....
It's a quest, so you wouldn't expect an easy drive-by would you? A cache that's in the Dams to Darnley Country Park, although not close to any of the major paths. The area can be reached either from the limited parking on Aurs Road, between Newton Mearns and Barrhead, or from the parking area at the top of Corselet Road (accessed from Darnley). Waypoints are provided for both.
The nearest any proper path gets to the cache is from the Fisherman's Path in the D2D Country Park cache direction. A small path, which can be quite overgrown at times, passes from there along the reservoir side to the woodland where the cache is hidden. We understand that the cache can be approached from the South East under the viaduct, but haven't tried it ourselves. Finally, a farm track runs parallel to the M77 from near the Potshot in the D2D Country Park cache. This is seen clearly on OSM, OS or Satellite maps. There is still a cross country yomp from this side too. From whichever direction you approach you should probably wear boots unless there has been a recent extremely arid spell.
