Geocahing is rocketing into space once again. Astronaut Rick Mastracchio will deliver a Travel Bug® to the International Space Station. Mastracchio will be using the Travel Bug as an educational tool to help teach students around the world about geography and provide other educational lessons. The mission is currently scheduled to launch from Kazakhstan at 4:08 GMT on November 7 and we want you all to be there (at least in spirit), Every geocacher who attends a Geocaching Event on November 6 or 7, 2013 will be awarded a “Geocaching in Space” souvenir. An event to celebrate will be held at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens/Sir Thomas Planetarium , I will be there from 9:30am to do other caches within the gardens, there is a table booked at the Cafe for 11:30 to have a bite to eat, then if you wish to attend a show at the Sir Thomas Planetarium; Black Holes: Journey into the Unknown the Show starts at 1:30pm Duration 45mins Ticket prices are Adult $14:80, Children $9:00, Concession $12:50. I will carry a log book with me all day for anyone that wants to pop in at anytime. Come along have some fun and get a "geocaching in space souvenir" while you're there :)
