Kantebakk is a popular trail and leads to Ramsåsen, one of Bærum's most beautiful viewpoints. The two kilometer walk from the parking area to the top has a height difference of 230 meters and the trail is very steep and challenging in some spots. There can be slippery rocks, leaves and roots, so watch your step!
The annual "Opp Kantebakk" hill-climb is a challenging and undoubtedly exhausting race sponsored by IL Jutul. A maximum 200 participants leave the starting line at Jordbru in easy terrain, but from Askelia the trail to the top quickly changes character. Check your watch when you begin the walk from Jordbru and compare your total time with that of Øyvind Heiberg Sundby, who logged the winning time in 2013 - 12 minutes 26,3 seconds! If you'd like, note your total time to the top in your log.
Luckily, the majority of hikers are not in a race against time and can enjoy the trip to the top. The blue-marked trail is narrow, steep and rocky. Approximately half-way up is an old fence and gate, and shortly after, there is a fork in the trail. Keep to the right. There are several nice viewpoints along the top ridge. The finish-line for the ”Opp Kantebakk race is marked with a small wooden sign. Hanging from one of the trees is a green mail box containing a notebook – Ti på Topp Asker og Bærum – sponsored by Bedriftsidrettslaget. Everyone can sign in! The cache is a short distance from here, near a beautiful spot for a backpack-lunchbreak.

Kantebakk er en populær tursti som går bratt opp fra Jordbru til Ramsåsen. Fra toppen er det fantastisk utsikt over Bærum og Oslofjorden. Turen fra parkeringsplassen på Jordbru er på 2km, med en høydeforskjell på 230m. Deler av stien er svært bratt, og turgåere bør være obs på glatte steiner, røtter og løv.
Hvert år arrangeres «Opp Kantebakk:» et hardt og fysisk krevende løp opp bakken. Arrangøren IL Jutul tilbyr 200 startnummer, og man skal være tidlig ute for å sikre seg plass i denne populære konkurransen. Fra startlinjen på Jordbru er det lett terreng langs lysløypa, men når deltakerne svinger opp ved Askelia øker pulsen raskt. Notér tidspunktet når du går fra parkeringsplassen og se om du kan måle deg mot Øyvind Heiberg Sundby som vant racet i 2013 med en tid på 12 minutter og 26,3 sekunder. Heldigvis har de fleste turgåere ikke noe hastverk, og kan ta inn omgivelsene på vei til toppen. Den bratte, blåmerkede stien går i lyst løvskogsterreng, med en gammel setergrind omtrent halvveis opp. Ta til høyre ved det påfølgende stiskillet, og følg ryggen oppover fra utsiktspunkt til utsiktspunkt. Mållinjen for «Opp Kantebakk» er merket med et skilt. Her kan du også finne en postkasse med loggbok – Ti på topp Asker og Bærum – lagt ut av Bedriftsidrettslaget.
