St. Johns the Baptist, Isleworth was consecrated in 1856, and established as a parish the following year. The Duke of Northumberland gave the site and £2.000 towards the £5.000 building costs.
In the 19th century the Farnell family owned the Isleworth Brewery, now site of the Maltings housing estate. The family paid for the original vicarage adjacent to the church which is now a private dwelling, and the Woodlands St. John School situated to the rear. The school closed in 1974, and has since been converted into two homes.
