Vietas apraksts:
Ieriķi ir dzelzceļa stacija Ieriķos, Amatas novada Drabešu pagastā. Ieriķu stacijā pietur dīzeļvilcieni, kas kursē līnijā Rīga - Lugaži.
1889. gadā tika uzbūvēta Ramocku dzelzceļa stacija, kuras nozīme pieauga 1916. gadā, pēc jauna dzelzceļa izbūves līdz Gulbenei. 1. Pasaules kara laikā, 1917. gadā tā kļuva par divu dažādu sliežu platumu dzelzceļa iecirkņu saskares staciju. 1919. gadā Ramocku staciju pārdēvēja par Ieriķiem. Padomju laikā pastāvēja šaursliežu līnija no Ieriķu stacijas līdz kaļķakmens karjeram pie Kumadas upes. Mūsdienās šaursliežu līnija nojaukta; nojaukti arī bijušās stratēģiskās tvaika lokomotīvju bāzes ceļi un apgriešanās trīsstūra ceļi.

The place:
Ieriki railway station is location in Amata parish, Drabesu district. It is one of the stations in railway line Riga - Lugazi.
In 1889 Ramocku railway station was built, it gained it’s importance in 1916 when a new railway line till Gulbene was buit. During World War I in 1917 it became a two different gauge rail-road station contact. In 1919 Ramocku railway station was renamed to Ieriki railway station. During soviet times there was a narrow gauge railway line from Ieriki to limestone quarry next to the Kumada river. Nowadays narrow gauge railway line has been reared down as well as formerly strategic steam locomotives bases and triangular inversion routes.
SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations. This is one of the series of over 500 caches started in the UK and Ireland. The idea of this series has travelled to Baltics and there are already a few SideTracked Caches in Lithuania and now also in Latvia.
