The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of the two major convention and exhibition venues in Hong Kong. It opened in November 1988, after which Hong Kong's exhibition industry experienced a period of rapid growth enabling Hong Kong to establish its position as Asia's trade fair capital and a premier international convention and meeting location.
Having experienced escalating demand from its time of opening, the HKCEC was expanded in June 1997 over doubling its prime function space. The expanded venue further strengthened Hong Kong's leading position as Asia's trade fair hub and assuring that Hong Kong could successfully meet the growing demand for space into the 21st century.
