This is the first in a series of caches being placed for young and young at heart geocachers. It coincides with the Fall Fling taking place at Goodrich-Loomis so it will be a great weekend to hike and explore our local Conservation Areas. You are looking for a camo'd Tupperware type container full of swag for the young cachers. Enjoy!
Seymour Conservation Area consists almost entirely of woodland. A meandering stream flows through the southwest corner and a swamp runs from north to south through the centre of the property. The Conservation Area was purchased in 1973 for the purpose of preserving a natural setting in the face of urban development pressures. Financial assistance from agencies and local community groups such as Weaver Funeral Homes, Campbellford/Seymour Community Foundation, Wetland Habitat Fund, Ducks Unlimited, Scouts Canada and the Toronto Zoo Foundation have helped Lower trent Conservation with the ongoing improvements to the property as well as the restoration of the provincially significant oak alvar savannah plant community that exists on the property.
