Geocache Description:

WARNING.
First and foremost - I am putting a disclaimer on this cache.  It could be dangerous and please only attempt it once you have read the full description!

Ok, so there is the disclaimer.  So, why the disclaimer?  Because there is a hell of a lot of leaf litter, steep slopes, cliff lines and potentially loose rocks involved in the retrieval of this one.

About the cache.  I've only been caching for a few years now and in that time have become quite influenced by certain caches and the challenges they have posed. I've loved them in fact. Then, sometime ago, I was doing some other caches in the area and was noticing that there weren't many other caches in the area so I came back one day to scout out some possible locations and when I saw this spot, the influence of those challenging caches took hold and I had to explore it.  Although somewhat different than a normal cache, I wanted to put a challenge out there to people to see just how they might go with this one and so after finally putting together a cache, I placed one there this morning and its now waiting to be found!

Now, given that I am going to rate this one so high, I will also let you in on a few things.

1. The co-ordinates were taken from ABOVE GZ to try and get them as accurate as possible.
2. You won't see the Attic Window from up top, so you may have to go down to reassess your plan of attack.
3. Only attempt the Attic Window if you are extremely sure footed as a slip could result in a drop that results in severe injury although I doubt perilous.
4. If you are unable to attempt retrieval via this method, it means that you may have to return with special equipment.

In order to get down, I would suggest following the Ross St access track to Pippa's Pass down and then work your way back around.  If you go straight towards GZ, you will be greeted with a steep slope of leaf litter and a drop at the bottom of it.  Once at the bottom and you can see the Attic Window, what you do is up to you, but be careful!!

That all said, there is plenty of room to drop off trackables, or just store things that you might think should be stored in an attic.  There are a couple of rocks holding the cache in place so please be careful when retrieving and replacing cache to ensure it is not going to move.

For those that take on this challenge, good luck and I hope you enjoy it. There is a gift for FTF in the cache.

Congrats to Team Webguy for his FTF. Hope the encounter with the minibus was worth it!! (read his log to find out more!)

PLEASE NOTE: After reading the first 2 logs, I want to reiterate the fact that the best access for the cache is in its name. For preservation of this area, please don't attempt to climb up as the rock is fragile. I have been to the cache spot 3 times before it was listed and left no footprint and damaged no rock. PLEASE be gentle with the surrounds. If you are by yourself and cannot retrieve it through the attic window, then I would suggest coming back with someone or something else to assist you. I don't want to have to archive this location so early on but I will if I have to, in the best interests of the landscape.
