The Tower

Det 72.500 m2 store hotel og konferencecenter er et skoleeksempel på de resultater der kan opnås med en gennemført bæredygtighedsstrategi. Projektet er fra tegnebrættet udviklet med fokus på bæredygtighed. Masterplanen er orienteret for optimale dagslysindfald, ligesom udviklingen af selve planlayoutet i højhuset har haft orienteringen i forhold til dagslys som en vigtig parameter. Nordeuropas største bygningsintegrerede solcelleanlæg på 2000 m2 er diskret integreret i facaden og de gunstige geologiske forhold har gjort det muligt at udnytte grundvandet til Danmarks første grundvandsbaserede køle/varme anlæg, hvilket har givet en markant energibesparelse på 88%.

Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers ligger som en imposant byport til Ørestad Syd ved skæringen mellem Øresundsforbindelsen og Metroen. Det består af et 25 etagers højhus, reception og gæstefaciliteter i stueplan, et 7-etagers konferencecenter samt et ball room med plads til 800 personer i kælderetagen. De underjordiske parkeringsfaciliteter er dækket af et terrasseret parkområde. Den 10-etagers bygning mod syd, ligeledes tegnet af DISSING+WEITLING, indeholder 9.500 m2 kontorlokaler som i stueplan og på første sal er sammenhængende med hotel og konferencecentret.

Det CO2-neutrale byggeri har opnået EU Green Building Certification, Bygningsreglementets Lavenergiklasse 2 og Ecotourism Award (verdens grønneste hotel), uddelt af rejse- og turistorganisationen Skål International

The Arena


Copenhagen Arena er en kommende indendørs multiarena i byudviklingsområdet Ørestad Syd i København.
Projektet blev præsenteret ved et pressemøde på Bella Sky den 23. september 2011.
Den 7. juni 2012 blev arenaens design præsenteret, og den vil fremstå i et markant nordisk design.
Grundstenen blev lagt den 26. juni 2013.

The Arena

Copenhagen Arena is an upcoming multi-use indoor arena in Ørestad Syd, a new development in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. The ground is expected to be broken for construction mid-2013 with the arena to open in the autumn 2015. It will have a capacity of 12,500 for sporting events and up to 15,000 (either sitting or standing) for concerts. The project was presented at a press conference at Bella Sky Hotel on 23 September 2011. The design of the arena was presented on 7 June 2012. The winning design team consists of 3XN, HKS, Inc., Arup, ME Engineers and Planit. The arena will have a distinctly Nordic design.

In Copenhagen, the Parken Stadium, which is primary is a football stadium, is the largest indoor arena, with a seated capacity of 38,065. There is a lack of indoor areas with a capacity of 10,000-20,000 in the region. For most international sport events, the Brøndby Hall and Ballerup Super Arena are not big enough, while the Parken Stadium is too big. For hosting events as the Ice Hockey World Championship, World Men's Handball Championship, FINA World Aquatics Championships, Disney on Ice, and Cirque du Soleil an arena of this size is required.
