We've been coming to El Cotillo for 4 summers in a row and every time we discover some new, amazing natural facet. This year we discovered the beaches and shorelines of the northern coast and fell in love with them. Coincidentally a friend turned us on to geocaching and we decided to leave our first cache near our favorite vacation spot.
You can find the cache by going to the northern end of El Caletón apartments where some wooden posts stick out of the ground and walk towards the sea along what would have been a road. Under the a pile of large, black, volcanic rocks off to your left you'll find the prize. If you look through the log book you'll also find a couple original drawings by my (now) 5 year-old daughter (a sort of cache-in-a-cache). The hint to find the drawing: pink is her favorite color. Once you find the cache please make an effort to completely cover it again. The bright colored top makes it easy to spot from a distance, even under a pile of rocks.
Please note: the forces of nature (and other geocachers) seem to move the the geocache around a bit so the coordinates are not exact. You simply have to look a little.
