Joseph Robinette "Joe" Biden, Jr., is best known for his long service in the US Senate before becoming President Obama's VP. Biden is the first Roman Catholic and first Delewarean to be elected vice-president. He suffered from stuttering much of his life into his 20s, but overcame it by reciting poetry while looking into a mirror.
