A l’entrée du village de Bolandoz, en venant de Chantrans, cette vierge fut érigée en 1859 en bas du [Kremkin] (phonétique / patois francomtois). Le [Kremkin] était la route anciennement très pentue, qui suscitait l’énervement des chevaux, et créait donc de nombreux accidents. Renomée rue de la Vierge, c’est en honneur à ces accidentés que cette statue fut édifiée.

At the entrance of Bolandoz, coming from Chantrans, this virgin was built in 1859 at the down of the [Kremkin] (local language). The [Kremkin] was the old steep road which was really hard for horses to go up and so created a lot of accidents. Re-named « rue de la vierge », it is for the memory of these injured persons that this statue was built.
