The Pinetop-Lakeside Public Library was once called the Larson Memorial Public Library in honor of Wallace H. Larson, an early resident of Lakeside, Arizona. Mr. Larson helped establish the first library in Lakeside in the 1930s. During the next 40 years the library burned twice. In the early 1970s the library was moved to its current location and now has over 30,000 books, movies, magazines, and CDs.
There is also a picnic table on the northwest side of the library (not related to the cache). It's a beautiful place for a quick lunch.
This cache is one in a series of caches placed by the Navajo County Library District located in Holbrook, Arizona. These caches are supported with funds granted to Navajo County Library District by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records Agency under the Library Services and Technology Act, which is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
