2013 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards

The Event:

The winners will be announced:
Saturday 22^nd of February, 2014

You can arrive any time from noon for the award ceremony at around 1pm. There will be an area for trackables of all sorts.
In Darebin Parklands is the most excellent Multi Darebin 1 - Darebin Parklands by ssmc4 which takes you on a walk around the whole park.
The Darebin Creek Bike trail passes very close to the event and runs from Latrobe Uni nearly to the Yarra River.

Schedule:
12noon ish - Arrive for BBQ lunch (Bring goodies)
12pm onwards - On site voting for caches to be listed in the Victorian Geocache Hall of Fame
1pm - Announcement of the Winners and Runners up
1.30 - Announcement of the admissions to Victorian Geocache Hall of Fame

Facilities and the event site include toilets, free BBQs (which we will be using) and a picnic shelter. The Darebin Creek Environment Centre also has its home here.

Nominations are invited from Victorian cachers, for awards in the following categories:

• Best Cache
• Best Traditional Cache
• Best Multi Cache
• Best Puzzle/Mystery Cache
• Best Cache Location
• Best Log
• Best Caching Photo
• Best First Hide
• Best Series

See you at the event tomorrow

Voting will be open until 5pm on the 21^st of February. This will allow people 6 weekends to visit as many of the nominated caches as they can and to vote in the most informed fashion (last year there were only 2 weeks!!)

The Rules:

• You can nominate three caches in the following categories.
  • Best Traditional Cache
  • Best Multi Cache
  • Best Puzzle/Mystery Cache
• You can only nominate one cache in the remaining categories.
• There will be a maximum of 30 caches to vote on in any one category, if more 30 caches are nominated, they must receive more than 1 nomination from different people to be eligible. If more than 30 caches are still nominated, they will need 3 nominations etc.
  
• The caches must be placed in Victoria during 2013.
  
• The caches must still be active at the end of 2013.
  
• You can NOT nominate a cache you have placed, a photo you have taken or a log you have written.
  
• Photos MUST be online on a cache log.
  
• Logs nominated for Best Log are to ONLY have been edited when they were made.

You don't need to have nominated a cache or even have voted in the awards to attend the event.

According to my DB there are 3409 caches published (on GC alone) in 2013 that are still active and eligible to be nominated, so there are plenty of caches to choose from...... go to it!
