Oletko kuullut tarinaa kaarisillan tontusta?
Se ongellansa kalastelee joenrannan montusta,
Mutta kun ihmisäänen kuulee hän niin ongen piilottaa,
ja vain tarkkasilmäisimmät hänet nähdä saa.
Et tontun luokse pääse mut vieraskirjan kyllä,
ilman tontun onkea et siihen tosin yllä.
Etsi ensin onki siis ja sillä kurota,
mut varo purkki pieni tuo ei saa veteen pudota!
Jos maltat olla hiljaa ja tarkkaan tihrustaa,
voi tonttu esiin tulla jos suinkin uskaltaa
Jos sen näet niin ethän koske ja pelästytä pois,
niin ehkä seuraavakin vieras näkeä sen vois!
English
There is an elf living under the bridge,
He is quite small, like a midge,
A story tells about his famous guestbook,
So, go to the bridge and take a look:
The book is right there, can you see?
Oh boy, that’s hard to reach, don´t you agree?
The Elf spends his days fishing,
”Can I use his fishing rod?”, you´ll be wishing,
Find the rod, take a good look,
And without struggles, log the book!
There is also the Elf himself somewhere hidden,
But remember, going near him is forbidden,
He is simply watching, do not fear,
Thank him and leave with cheer:
