Le Fond Pignon
Cette cuvette de 30 ha à l'abri d'une digue de 35 m de haut contient les 5,3 millions de m3 de craie bleue
qui ont été enlevés par la partie française pour réaliser le tunnel sous la Manche.
C'est un lieu de repos pour les oiseaux en migration ou en hivernage.
The basin of 30 ha in the shelter of a dam 35 m high contains 5.3 million m3 of blue chalk
which were removed by the French section to realize the Channel Tunnel.
It is a resting place for migrating birds or wintering.
