The beginning of the emergence of the Jeita cave was in the Quaternary. The Jeita cave was probably, as the valley of the Nahr el-Kalb itself, applied along a line running from east to west fault in this area.
The carbonate dissolution along faults only occurs in the initial stages of cave formation, after which the cave course is exclusively dependent on the water gradient.
With progressive erosion with simultaneous uplift of Mount Lebanon, there was a lowering of the water table: the upper cave system was therefore mostly hydraulically decoupled and largely drained, while developed by lowering the lower cave system with the still active cave river.
The development of a cave system depends not only on purely geological conditions also on the prevailing climate conditions: the more humid the climate, the better development conditions for caves. Studies of a 120 cm long and mature in the course of about 12,000 years stalagmite from the Jeita cave (upper cave, about 200 m removed from the entrance in 2005 and then divided longitudinally - the remaining half in the cave with explanatory display) showed that the generally very dry climate at the end of the last ice age 1100 mm stalactite growth and significantly increased (up to 3 cm/100 a). This was followed by a 500-year transitional period, a drier period, which lasted until at least 1100 years before the present time (the temporal end of the drip stone) and was interrupted only between 3,000 and 4,000 years before present time of a turn relatively wet period. Currently, the annual rainfall is Jeita cave on average 1000 mm per year.

Tuesday - Sunday 9:00 - 17.00 clock. Is closed on Mondays! In the rainy winter months the small cave is closed due to high water level.

كانت بداية ظهور جعيتا مغارة في الرباعية. كان كهف جعيتا ربما، كما وادي نهر البارد للكلب نفسه، تطبيق على طول خط يمتد من الشرق إلى الغرب خطأ في هذا المجال.
انحلال كربونات على طول أخطاء تحدث فقط في المراحل الأولى من تشكيل الكهف، وبعد ذلك بالطبع كهف تعتمد حصرا على التدرج المياه.
