Geocache Description:

[Eng] This is one of the caches that have been placed near Asaru Lake as the cache-in part of the geocaching event MRPT: CITO (GC4D94F).

[Eng] On July 7, 2013 near Asaru Lake not far from the cache site as well as all over the MRPT trail CITO event (Cache In trash Out) was organized in order to clean-up the area and perform maintenance to the caches on this trail. During the CITO the participants had the chance to find the particular cache as the first ones.
This is as close as the MRPT trail comes to Asaru lake. Go and check out the lake!

Asaru Lake (also Asarītis, Asarīšu Lake – in translation Perch Lake) is a lake surrounded by a forest in quite a marshy area in Garkalne region. There are several swimming areas as well as quite a good road to the lake. Those are some of the reasons why the lake is quite popular with people wishing to rest and relax outdoors as well as with fishermen. The lake is inhabited by pike, tench, perch, bream, also aforetime carp has been grown here. On warm summer evenings and during weekends also enthusiasts on waterbikes have been seen here.
The average depth of the lake is 2.3 m, the maximum - 3.7 meters.

Good luck caching! And let’s keep the forest and all our surroundings clean!
