Welcome to Daniels Head Beach Park!

This beautiful little beach tucked away on a remote peninsula stretching from the western corner of Sandy's Parish is a wonderful little national park with a breathtaking ocean view. One of the best kept secrets in Bermuda, it is likely you'll get this beach all to yourself. Just be warned - if the wind is from the south-west you may be treated to the lovely aroma from nearby Westover Farm!

Those funny looking little houses on stilts are part of the 9 Beaches Resort. The resort is currently closed, undergoing a major redevelopment and is not expected to reopen until the late summer of 2015.

The snorkeling around Daniel's Head is excellent. You are likely to see a variety of the beautiful fish found in Bermuda, such as Blue Angelfish, Wrasse, Blue Tang, Parrotfish and Sergeant Majors.

Bermuda's beaches are world famous for their pink sand. Take a closer and you'll see tiny flecks of pink shell mixed into the other beach material. Tucked on the undersides of Bermuda's coral reef ledges are tiny marine organisms called Foraminifera, whose shells are made of calcium carbonate, the same material found in the shells of lobsters and mussels. A particular species of red foraminifera, Homotrema rubrum¸ resides on Bermuda's reefs. When they die, either from natural causes or from the force of wave action, their red shells sink to the bottom. Eventually the shells are broken up, mixed with other materials from the reefs and washed up onto our shores as sand, forming our beautiful pink beaches.

The easiest way to get out to Daniel's Head is either on scooters, bicycle or taxi. The closest bus stop is off Somerset Road and leaves you an over 0.6 mile walk.
