Geocache Description:

Pot slightly larger than the normal 35mm size containing log only and £1 for FTF.

This is a very short offset multi cache set in Church Lane.

Cannards Grave is named after Giles Cannard who ran the close by inn during the 17th century and was engaged in many criminal activities including sheep stealing. Once these activities were discovered he either committed suicide or was convicted then hung and his body buried at the crossroads.

The small church and church rooms were in use up to about thirty years ago. The local farming family,the Normans,were very involved in the running of the church. The last christening held in the church was a member of that family.

After the closure of the church the war memorial was removed and is now in St Peters and St Pauls church in Shepton Mallet.

In order to find the cache you need to go to the coordinates where there is a sign with three numbers on it. These are ABC.

The cache is close by at N 51 10. 3 (8 - C)3 W 002 32.AB7

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
