Leaving the village...
Leaving Voegtlinshoffen, at the roundabout, watch Bacchus, original sculpture embodying the local history of sandstone and two meters high and 11 tons working in the ancient mind, is a partial representation with 4 eyes for 4 faces. An optical effect gives the impression that each face is complete. Bacchus was inaugurated on 31 December 1999, symbolizing the coming of the 21st century. The incarnation of the past and present history of the town between the stone work (by quarries) and the vine is also the warm reflection that Voegtlinshoffen reserve to its visitors.
