Le Grand Val, « Port Minic », est aujourd’hui un lieu entièrement consacré au nautisme.
Autrefois le site était fermé par un moulin à marée, nommé « Moulin de Fosse-Mort ».
C'était l'un des cinq moulins à marée du grand Pleurtuit, avant les détachements du Minihic et de La Richardais. Il doit son nom à sa localisation : les courants marins ont en effet une prédilection macabre pour l'anse située au fond de la baie, lieu où échouaient souvent les noyés. Le moulin à marée de Fosse-Mort faisait partie du bailliage de La Béllière. Dans la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle, il est en pleine activité. Victime de la concurrence des autres minoteries, le moulin cesse son activité au début du XXe siècle. Il est alors laissé à l'abandon et tombe rapidement en ruines.
Le Grand Val, "Port Minic", is a place completely dedicated to the water sport today.
Formerly the site was closed by a mill in tide, named "Moulin de Fosse-Mort ".
It was one of the five mills in tide of the big Pleurtuit, before the detachments of Minihic and La Richardais. He owes his name to his location: sea currents indeed have a macabre preference for the handle situated at the bottom of the bay, the place where often failed the drowned persons. The mill in tide of Fosse-Mort was a part of the bailiwick of Béllière. In the first half of the XVIIIth century, it is active. Victim of the competition of the other flour-mills, the mill stops its activity at the beginning of the XXth century. It is then neglected and quickly fell into ruins.
