Geocache Description:

This is the first cache in a walking loop containing 4 caches that takes you up a popular dirt hiking trail and down a narrow slot canyon that is filled with a beautiful rainbow of colored rock formations.  The round-trip hiking distance is 1.75 miles and the elevation change is 310 Feet.

The trail up follows the River Mountain Hiking Trail and is an easy walk.  The way back follows the Ginger Bike Trail and traverses a narrow slot canyon with an 8 ft waterfall at the lower end.  The waterfall can be carefully walked down without using your hands or sliding on your bottom if you have fair balance and some hiking experience.  Watch carefully for those extreme bikers that may be coming down the canyon to jump the waterfall.  I have not actually seen them, but know they are there from their tracks.  Do NOT navigate this slot canyon when it is raining or about to rain.

This loop has 4 caches in it, and there are another 4 caches nearby.  Park at the River Mountain Trail head, near the GC1FZC7 cache, NANO X2 by BCLoon.  Hike up the trail to Crossroads #2 cache, then continue up the trail to the sign at the top of the wide slot canyon that points to the right and takes you out of the wash.  Stay in the wash and continue left to the southwest to Top of the Slot #3.  At the top of the slot canyon, watch for bicycles then head down the wash to the east to the Slot Canyon Waterfall Cache #4.  Follow the wash below the waterfall to the Crossroads #2 cache site, then back out the River Mountain Trail.

This is a small pill bottle with camo tape, log only, BYOP  The next cache is Crossroads #2 found near the crossroads of the River Mountain Trail and the Lower Lake View Trail
