A Locomotiva Traditional Cache

Os primeiros registos oficiais da  exploração nas Minas da Panasqueira remonta ao final do sec. XIX, sendo a primeira concessão de 25 de Novembro de 1898.

Em 1904 o conde Inglês Burnay inicia a construção da primeira  lavaria mecanizada das Minas da Panasqueira localizada junto ao rio Zêzere, denominada usualmente por lavaria do Rio.

Durante a quase totalidade do séc. XX (em 1996 a lavaria do Rio foi transferida totalmente para uma lavaria no sector da Barroca Grande)   os inertes resultantes da lavagem do minério foram sendo depositados em escombreiras que moldaram a paisagem em redor do Cabeço do Pião.

O transporte dos inertes foi feito em grande parte recorrendo a vagões de carga puxados por locomotivas primeiro a vapor e mais tarde a fuel. 

The first official records of exploration in Minas Panasqueira dates back to the end of the 19th Century, the first concession dates back from November 25, 1898.

In 1904 the English Count Burnay begins the construction of the first mechanized washery on Minas da Panasqueira located along the river Zêzere, usually called by the washery of Rio

During almost the entire sec. XX (1996 the washery was completely transferred into a new one  in the area of Barroca Grande) aggregates from washing the ore were being deposited in heaps that have shaped the landscape around the Cabeço do Pião.

The transport of aggregates was largely done using freight cars pulled by steam locomotives first and later by fuel versions.

Esta cache pretende mostrar-vos uma dessas locomotivas esquecida nas escombreiras, uma peça da historia das Minas.

Numa paisagem alterada ao longo do tempo a vista do Zêzere ao fundo da montanha construida pelo Homem impressiona.

The intention of this cache is to show one off those locomotives, a forgotten piece of those Mines history.

In a landscape changed through time the view of the river at the bottom of this mountain made by man is impressive.
