Geocache Description:

Following the theme of First Settlement (http://coord.info/GC43Y32), Tomac Cove is the location where the first Greenwich settlers, on July 16, 1640, docked their Dutch ship before making the purchase of the surrounding area from the Patamuck and Asamuck Indians.

This area is of personal significance as Mr. Gator's late father, when he was a boy, used to walk from his home in Stamford to Tomac Cove in order to play on the beach and in the sound.  He then went on to become a famous cartoonist and painted landscapes as a hobby, many of which included Tomac Cove.

The cache, an ammo can, is located well above the high tide line, so there is no need to go near the water or the marshy surrounds. I will not give a waypoint to keep it interesting, but I will say that what looks to be the most direct route is, in fact, not.
