Le hameau de Pont-Hubert à l’origine de la commune de Pont Sainte Marie a toujours été tête de pont sur la Seine.
Cette position fera du village un lieu de passage important dès la période gallo-romaine et notamment de bien des armées.
Dès cette époque, c’est le seul pont au Nord de Troyes et un important carrefour de voies romaines.
Après la prise de Troyes par Jeanne d’Arc et Charles VII en Juillet 1429, ceux-ci l’empruntent pour aller à Reims.
En 1785, le hameau de Pont-Hubert est rattaché à la commune de Pont Sainte Marie.
En Février 1814, Napoléon fait brûler ce grand Pont pour retarder l’avance des alliés.
Dans le cadre du programme de restauration des ouvrages d’art de son Patrimoine, le Grand Troyes a réalisé d’importants travaux de rénovation du Pont-Hubert en 2012.

The Pont-Hubert village is the origin from the city of Pont Sainte Marie, and has always been a bridgehead on the Seine river.
By this position, this village became since the Gallo Roman period, an important place of passage and in particular for lot of armies.
From this early period, it was the only bridge in the north of Troyes, and a main crossroad of Roman ways.
After freed Troyes in July 1429, Jeanne d’Arc and Charles VII went over this bridge to reach Reims.
In 1785, Pont-Hubert village is connected to the city of Pont Sainte Marie.
In February 1814, Napoleon burned this bridge to delay the allies progress.
