Monument over Trónda í Gøtu. Hans Pauli Olsen a faroese sculptor made this monument in 2008. Tróndur í Gøtu (ca. 945 – 1035) was a viking from the Faroe Islands. He and Sigmundur Brestisson are the central figures in the Færeyinga saga, which tells the early history of the Faroe Islands and the coming of Christianity to the islands, which Tróndur opposed.
The place is in the old part of the village Gøta. You will see the old Church from 1833 and the old farmehouse Blásastova from 1836. The catch is a small comtainer whit a magnet. You can drive almost to the catch. Park you car near by the church and walk to the monument.
