City of Belišće always had a railroad and a railstation. Salamon Henrik Gutmann brought it way back in 1884. when city of Belišće was founded. Originally the train station was at today's bus station, but now it's moved near the riverside Drava.
First the railroad was used only for transportation of raw materials (wood, machines, paper and paper products) for company Kombinat Belišće d.d. But at the begining of the 1990-ties there was a passenger's line from Belišće to Osijek. Back then it was the cheapest way to go to major city of our county Osječko-baranjska. Not so long ago the line was shut down because it was unrewarding. Now there are no more trains on the railroads in Belišće, but the train station still remains.
This cache is the tribute to the memory when I as a young boy traveled to Osijek by train. The train wasn't large, but for a young boy like me back then it was huge :)

We found out that train passes here once a month so be careful while searching for a cache and please beware of the muggles around.
