Geocache Description:

Ridgecrest Geocachers 2nd Annual CITO Event!

April 20th from 0700 until 1100

Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!

Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. Events might be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, revegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?

This year we have been asked to help with the CITO event currently planned on China Lake NAWS.  Since not everyone has access to the base (Must currently already have one, they will not sponsor a day pass), we will have 2 locations to clean this year.

EVERYONE who wished to participate in either cleanup will meet at 7am in the Pizza Factory Parking Lot on Saturday, April 20th.  We will then break up into 2 groups and begin cleanning designated areas.  Please bring plenty of water, gloves, and a positive attitude! Trash bags will be supplied, but you may bring your own!

I believe this event also qualifies for student's Community Service hours, though I'm not 100% sure on that.

Group 1:

This is for those who HAVE access to the base.  We have been asked to arrive  on the grassy area between Branch Health Clinic China Lake and Blandy Ave. at 7:30am to register, participate in a short kick-off and a safety brief.  Official Geocaching Log will be available at 11am back in front of the Branch Health Clinic.

If you are interested in being part of this group, please contact Jen at geocaching@the-immortal-realm.com

Group 2:

This is for those who DO NOT HAVE access to the base.  The lot across the street from Pizza Factory, near the Base's welcome center could use a lot of help as well as the lot next to the movie theater and nail salon.  Official Geocaching Log will be available starting at 10am.
