Cowry Cove Traditional Geocache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Big Dave73: Checked to see that the cache must have washed away. I prepared a replacement and all and had to kick myself for forgetting to put it in my bag. Will be back soon

Geocache Description:

Located at Zampa point, a handmade cache is hidden in a secret cove.

While walking along the coast of Yomitan I made a cache from a couple of things I found on the shore and hid it here.
Many years ago I visited this hidden little cove to collect cowry shells.  Sometimes I would find some very rare and beautiful ones. Sadly, today when I placed the cache I didn't see any.   There is however another much smaller cove nearby that is littered with cowry shells. It can only be found at  lowtide so if you like, try to find it.

To find this cache you can either walk along the coast from Zampa beach (only possible at low tide) or use a fisherman"s trail that starts from the main road near the snow cone bus.  If you use the trail, there is a small rope that helps you climb down into the cove.
Once down in the cove head towards the sea and and then take a sharp turn to the left and go right to the end. Here is where you search.

DO NOT, come to this area in a typhoon.  Strong winds and powerful waves have taken many lives at Zampa Point.  Also DON'T SWIM or SNORKLE off shore from this cache location.  Strong rips and undertoes have also taken many victims never to be seen again.

The cove is very beautiful so feel free to post pictures, but please don't post a picture of the cache.  Good Luck!

Congrats to IH8TIX for the FTF! I would never have gone there at night! And on a very windy day too.

The cache had fallen from it's hiding spot once so please return everything you touch to the exact spot you found it. Even if you think it is not the cache (It may very well be) Thank you!
