This is the 57th Presque Isle State Park spring clean-up
Presque Isle State Park is a jewel among the Pennsylvania state parks. Each year they ask for volunteers to help pick up trash. In the past, the Northwest Pennsylvania geocachers have been very helpful in donating their morning to participate.
The coordinates are for parking at Perry Monument where I will be there with trash bags and gloves. Start is 9am. It takes about 20 minutes to drive there from the park entrance.
There will be a lunch at the Rotary Pavilion and prizes for the most unusual trash finds! The park is very supportive of geocaching and there are caches on the park that if you have not done them, you might spend the afternoon there.
Be aware that there are deer ticks that may carry Lyme disease. Take precautions to reduce your exposure. Wear long pants and tuck your pants into your socks. Check for ticks at the end and when you get home.
When finished, place the filled trash bags along side of the road for pick-up by maintenance. Do not pick up needles or syringes and anything that looks hazaardous to you. Note the GPS coordinates and turn this information in to a park representative at the Rotary Pavilion..
