Geocache Description:

This is the usual fantastic South Transdanubian Regional Cacher Meeting (DDRKT) held twice a year. Regional only in its name! Over a hundred cachers participate each time and it is great fun!
All are welcome from far and wide!

Good hike, competition, chance to meet other cachers, exchange TBs, to learn more about your GPS and geocaching! Fun for newbies and pros, old and young! An event not to be missed!

A rendezvény teljes leírását itt találod.

Location
The event is held in Pécs, seat of Baranya county, at the foot of the Jakab Mountain. It lasts from Friday, May 10th to Sunday, May 12th.
We meet at Teca Mama Kisvendéglője (Teca Mama's Small Restaurant), the Base, at the entrance of the picturesque Éger-völgy (Éger valley), the gateway to the Western Mecsek. You will have a great hike in the beautiful, spingy Mecsek Mountain - and/or a great chat with fellow cachers at the Base.

Events

On Friday, May 10th: Before-party at the Base

Have fun and meet fellow geocachers!
This will be HOT!
A short product demonstration and tasting will be held by Chili Szószok Webáruház
5-6 kinds of hot souces with various intensity will be introduced, so everyone can surely pick a favorite.
We are planning to make a stew in a kettle. If you arrive early, you can help cooking!
Please, make sure you let us now how many of you are coming on Friday so there is enough food for everyone!

ATTENTION: The event is partly outdoors, wear several layers of cloths! Though the ice-tea and chilli will keep you warm inside, it may be cold outside!

On Saturday, May 11th: The main event

From 9:00 am: Registration, start of the competition
The competition will be near the Base. Stages to be found will be placed within a 2.5 km radius. Coordinates will be uploaded to your GPS at the time of registration on site. Some of the stages you MUST visit, others are voluntary, you may visit as many as you want. There will be two categories

Category 1: With a (small) child
Besides your GPS you need to have at least on child with you who is less then 10 years old. A limited number of children are available for rent at the base from the organizers. Preregistration is possible!
Task: Inverse caching following a track.
Description: Pictures will be uploaded to your devise (GPS, phone, PDA). Printed pictures (in limited numbers) are also available at registration. If requested, the tracklog will also be uploaded to your GPS. Following that makes finding the required locations really easy.
Goal: 1. Find the places where the pictures were taken and determine their coordinates with a minimum of 30 m accuracy. 2. Take a group picture at a given place. Each member of the group has to be on the picture!
Distance: about 3.5-4 km, with 130-150 m elevation.
Evaluation: each correctly measured location is worth 5 points. The group picture is worth 10 points. The group with the most points wins.

Category 2: Regular
Description: we picked the very best tasks used on previous DDRKTs.
Be prepared for the worst! It is strongly recommended to visit at least one of each type of task to avoid gaining minus points.
Goal: visit the required locations, find the task, solve it, fill in the task sheet.
Distance: about 12-18 km, 500-750 m elevation.
Evaluation: each correct answer is worth 10 points. Player with the most points win. In case of a tie, player with the shorter track-log wins.

The registration fee is 1,000 Ft/team.
4 pm: End of competition. You must get back to the base by this time.
1:00 pm - 4 pm: Lunch: bring your own or enjoy a nice warm beangulyás soup and 2 palacsintas (please pick the flavor: cocoa, jam, cinnamon) or 2 pogácsas flavored with bear's garlic (Salty pastry, like biscuit with a kind of wild onion abundant in the Mecsek in the spring. Really bio, really good.)
The lunch costs 1,200 Ft/person.
5:00 pm: announcement of the results.

Please, bring your cable, if your GPS needs a special one.
Please, set your GPS to 1-3 sec or 1-5 yard tracking. Too "scarce" tracks cannot be evaluated!

On Sunday, May 12th: Program ideas

Mecsextrém Park
Caching, caching, caching.

Please, note in your "will attend" log:
- How many are coming to the before-party?
- How many portions of lunch do you need on Saturday? How many with pogácsa and how many are with palacsinta? What flavors?

Deadline for registration: May 9th, 6 pm.
You are welcome even if you arrive unregistered, but you may not be able to get the yummy-yummy lunch.
