Church Micro 3433…Bromham Methodist
Methodism appeared here in the late 18th century when the village was included as a part of the Bradford or North Wilts circuit of preachers in the early 1780s. A chapel was built in 1799 and licensed in July of that year. In 1811, when Bromham was included in the new Melksham circuit there were 43 members and three leaders of the chapel. Membership grew in the ealy 19th century and the chapel was enlarged in 1815, with a Sunday School. By 1857 there were 38 members and 200 in the Sunday School. The congregation continued to grow and the chapel was again enlarged in 1880. The church continues to thrive with Sunday and weekday services and a Sunday School.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
