Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

This cemetery was founded in 1887 and would appear to have been primarily Anglo in origin. There are 323 interments ranging up to at least 2012, with members of the Adams, Feild/Field, Hodge, Mallett, Risinger, Samford, and Shelby families laid to rest here amongst many others.

The site is fenced and gated, but you do not need to enter the cemetery to make the find. Please be discreet, as their are occupied houses directly across the road. And as always, coordinate corrections are welcomed.
