Σε ύψος 80μ. από τη θάλασσα και σε βράχο απότομο και γιγαντιαίο, είναι κτισμένη η μονή Διονυσίου. Δυτικά της κατεβαίνει μεγαλόπρεπα ο χείμαρρος Αεροπόταμος. Τα κελλιά των μοναχών βλέπουν προς την θάλασσα, με εξώστες ολόγυρα ζωσμένα και ανάμεσά τους μια σχετικά στενή αυλή που το κέντρο της καταλαμβάνει το Καθολικό.
Η κρυπτη βρισκεται απεναντι απο την μονη σε ενα παλαιο κελι.το κελί του μακαριστού γέροντα Θεόκλητου του Διονυσιάτη.
