Geocache Description:

20 YEAR CACHE-Hardwood forest with nice walking trails

This is a multi with 3 caches to find. There is a half-cheat that you can try if you want to think a bit and skip the 2nd cache. While you are there you can walk the rest of the trail system. There are a couple of bridges on the west end of the park. One crosses Seeley Brook and the other crosses a wetland. There is a township hall and park with ball fields and basketball court. Also a tin outhouse. You can park there or you can park at a shelter a little closer to the trailhead. Trail head parking is at 45-26.52, 93-23.84. In the cache you may find some fake 20's, a devil hates kung-fu sticker, google eye bookmark, small ball, dinosaur, goat, clip-it, and some other stickers. Cleo (geo-dog) and I had a great time setting this out. We saw deer, squirrels, and grouse in this woods. Have fun on your hunt. Caches 1 and 3 are medium size plastic containers, 2 is a metal tube-like thingy with about a 3" opening. The Devil hates Kung-Fu sticker is now retired. As I was re-building the different stages for it’s 20th anniversary, I gave pause to reflect on how this park has changed and in some ways has not changed. The man-made things (like the bridges) have all but disappeared and yet the woods and trees and other natural wonders have flourished. Nature wins! (And there are still lots of summertime bugs, oh well….). I am sure those bridges were built by some well meaning club, group, or organization that was in favor of promoting the uniqueness of this woods by providing walking/hiking/skiing trails that wound around and through this preserve. They purposely weren’t wide enough to carry anything motorized. But, for hikers and sliders they were great. Alas, they are now a mere memory. You can see a few snapshots in the photo gallery attached to this cache listing to view the un-raveling over time. The original stages had you geocachers needing to use the big bridge to get to the second stage of this cache. Now, this middle stage is near to the last remnants of that structure. Have a good hunt and thanks for visiting this 20 year old cache.
