Important – Please Read
The cache is hidden on the edge of the grounds of a disused school. The area is now sometimes used for the training of Police Dogs. Stay to the public footpaths at all times. The footpaths through the grounds are clearly signed. There is no need to leave the footpaths to find this cache. The Police Dogs are under complete control of their handlers, however, if you encounter a free running Police Dog stand completely still and quiet and wait for instructions from a handler.
21.07.13 - Important Cache page update!
There are working guard dogs working this area and are loose. As you can appreciate if your are sneaking around nearby the dogs will pick up your scent and go for you. The dog handlers are happy for people to cache in this area but please you could inform them by ringing the DUTY DOG HANDLER on the following number 07940 210394. Thank you.
Because of this, I have made this cache a relatively easy one to find to avoid you having to look suspicious for long. If by chance you do get questioned by the police please tell them truthfully exactly what you are doing.
About The Area
The Cotswold Community was an independent school for boys of ages 8 to 16, located on a 350 acre farm near Ashton Keynes. On July 29th 2011 the school closed, ending more than 70 years of their special service. All of the school buildings and residential properties on the site have been boarded up, and apart from the odd activity as mentioned above, the site has quite an eerie feel to it not too disimilar to the centre of Imber Village.
Congrats to pig, dog, boyandgirls and Pir8sOld&New for FTF and STF.
