A great place to view the "Forbidden Tor" of Dartmoor - Vixen Tor
Vixen Tor is one of the most striking tors on the whole of Dartmoor and is the largest mass of granite on Dartmoor. Despite being a beauty spot and famous landmark, Vixen Tor has been "out of bounds" to the public since a new land owner closed the tor to public access in 2003. After almost a decade of mass trespasses and legal battles the tor is still not open to the public and it appears that the interested parties have now given up hope of regaining the previously enjoyed, although disputed, public access.
