Le Pont de Croissy-Bougival
Un large pont enjambant la seine en passant par l’ile de la Grenouillère
Trois caches, sur ce parcours, de styles identiques.
Pourquoi « Le Pont de la Bac » ?
Alors que nous passions dessus, un ancien, très vieux, nous aborda.
Il nous conta la raison de ce nom.
Au début du siècle dernier pour traverser la Seine de Croissy à Bougival il n’existait aucun pont, les deux rives étaient reliées par un bac.
Un tronçon passait de Croissy à l’ile de la Grenouillère et un autre partait de cette ile pour rejoindre Bougival. Une seule équipe s’occupait de ces bacs et qui étaient gérés par un société qui s’appelait tout bonnement « La Bac ».
Ce nom resta quand un pont fut construit.
Malheureusement durant la guerre de 1940 ce pont fut détruit. Reconstruit il s’appela « Pont de Croissy » et c’est seulement en 1968 que fut édifié le pont actuel qui se nomme « Le Pont de Croissy-Bougival ».
De retour, nous n’avons trouvé nulle part dans nos recherches l’appellation de la société « La Bac ».
Le vieil homme nous a-t-il raconté des « Carabistouilles » ? ou bien ce nom a une toute autre signification ?
Ce nom nous plaisait et nous l’avons conservé pour ces trois caches.

Why "Le Pont de la Bac”?
As we passed over an old man, very old, began to approach us.
He told us the reason for the name.
At the beginning of the last century to cross the Seine at Bougival-Croissy there was no bridge, the two sides were connected by a ferry.
A section of Croissy going to the island of Grenouillère and another was going from this island to go to Bougival. One team was responsible for these ferry, which were managed by a company called simply "La Bac".
The name remained when a bridge was built.
Unfortunately during the war of 1940 the bridge was destroyed. Rebuilt it called "Bridge Croissy" and it is only in 1968 that the current bridge was built which nicknamed "The Bridge Croissy-Bougival."
Back, we did not find anywhere in our research the name of the company "La Bac".
The old man told us he of "Carabistouilles"? or the name has a different meaning?
The name we liked and we kept these three caches.
